My horse is already registered with another registry, can I still register with GHA?
Yes, of course! We even offer a discount for previously registered horses. Check out our Registration Guidelines for more information.
I want to register my horse as a Gypsy Cross. Do both parents need to be registered for my horse to be eligible for the Gypsy Heritage Division?
We only require the Gypsy parent to be registered in order for your horse to be eligible for Gypsy Cross registration.
Where do I mail my DNA? Is there a kit required?
We use the University of Kentucky for DNA testing. Use the GHA form available on our Forms page to send in a hair sample to the UKY.
I bought a Gypsy registered with GHA. How do I transfer the registration into my name?
Transfers are processed using our Transfer form, available on our Forms page. Fill out and send your transfer to us with the fee and we will send you a new certificate in your name.
I want to change the name of my horse? How do I go about doing that?
Name changes are allowed for horses at any time, with the exception of removing a breeder’s prefix without permission. Similar to a transfer, there is a fee associated with a name change to cover the cost of updating our records. See our Registration Rules page for more info.
